AllMusic Review by

The British Pye label released a lot of interesting British Invasion music in the 1960s, but this scrabbily patched-together double LP hardly offers the best context for it. Hits by the Searchers, the Honeycombs, Sandie Shaw, Donovan, Mungo Jerry, and Status Quo are mashed against a couple of early Kinks album tracks and both sides of David Bowie's three flop Pye singles from 1965-66. All of the artists involved have greatest hits collections that do a decent job of presenting the music in a far more satisfying light. At one time this held some collector interest for the presence of Bowie's rare, somewhat lightweight early pop 45s. But those cuts are now all available on Rhino's Early On CD, rendering this double LP useless.
