Making his first musical mark in the Marvel Universe, composer Christophe Beck brings a distinct sense of fun and playfulness to his score 2015's Ant-Man. With a sweeping scope big enough to fill the expanding tent of Marvel's interconnected series of superhero films (The Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man), his catchy mix of jazzy, spy music themes and brassy attitude are tailor-made for Ant-Man's unique feel. Based around the story of a master thief named Scott Lang who gets recruited to lead a battalion of ants against forces of evil while wearing a special shrinking super suit, Beck's entertaining score offers cinematic romance and superhero heft, but more specifically plays to the film's clever humor and the assembled cast's witty repartee. He keeps things moving along at a quick pace making for a lively but heartfelt score.
