AllMusic Review by

The delightful jazz singer Carla White made her debut on this boppish Stash LP. She shared co-leadership with trumpeter Manny Duran and they were joined by pianist Peter Madsen, bassist Ed Howard and drummer Taro Okamoto. White mostly sticks to scat singing on the four bop tunes ("Dig," "Lover Man," "Good Morning Heartache" and Fats Navarro's "Fat's Flats") and two group originals. Her interplay with Duran's trumpet in some of the ensembles is often exciting, making this a historic release that hopefully Stash will reissue on CD eventually.
