AllMusic Review by

This varied collection is a little too random to be a traditional introduction to doo wop, so listeners shouldn't pick it up expecting a historical survey of the genre. What's here is often surprising, though, particularly the sprung rhythms and self-torment of "A Sinner in Love," the wacky and truly disturbing "Jack the Ripper" by the Elites, and the rolling and flowing "Mary Lee" by the Rainbows that closes things out here.
