Boca Livre is a vocal/instrumental pop group in Brazil. In careful, musical, if not virtuosic vocal arrangements, they deliver a highly enjoyable acoustic sound. Here they are joined by the international jazz musicians Danny Gottlieb and Naná Vasconcelos, among others, providing additional interest for an already interesting material. The album's concept, expressed in the title, is to express the connections with American music. There are tentative rap and other contemporary grooves interspersed with Brazilian rhythms, Harrison' American classic "I Need You," and obviously the strong Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young influence mixed with jazzy sax incursions.
