American Idol Season 10 Highlights

One of several releases that appeared in the wake of Scotty McCreery’s American Idol win, this EP features five songs performed during his time on the show. None of the tracks are live recordings; instead, they’re all presented in their extended studio versions. With the exception of “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not,” all of them also appeared on the full-length American Idol Season 10: Scotty McCreery, which was released several weeks prior and offers a broader overview of McCreery’s talent. Some of the best numbers are missing from this collection, which reads less like an EP and more like an extended single for “I Love You This Big,” but there’s enough country-pop schmaltz and baritone twang in the remaining tunes to keep returning fans satisfied.
