Having already had his music recorded by the likes of Kenny Loggins, Maxi Priest, and others, songwriter Regie Hamm gets the chance to show off his performance chops on his debut solo release, American Dreams. A singer/songwriter at heart, Hamm excels at cleanly produced, radio-friendly rock with a storytelling bent. There is also a modern country feel to tracks such as the big and bright "It's Alright." "Shelby St. Bridge" is another standout track that sounds something like the Goo Goo Dolls doing modern country. Hamm's soulful vocal twang is pleasantly reminiscent of Bruce Hornsby, and fans of the adult contemporary rock style should find much to enjoy here.
