Time-Life's AM Gold: The Mid '60s is a well-chosen, highly entertaining collection of classic pop hits that takes you back to a really strong era of radio. The track list hits many of the popular styles of the day, including the British invasion (with Peter & Gordon's "Lady Godiva," the Searchers' "Love Potion #9" and the Hollies' "Bus Stop"), Motown (with the Supremes' "Where Did Our Love Go" and Marvin Gaye's "How Sweet It Is [To Be Loved by You],") American pop (with the Lovin' Spoonful's "Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind", the Association's "Windy" and the Cyrkle's "Red Rubber Ball") and even some novelty country (with Roger Miller's "Dang Me"). As with most Time-Life collections of this nature, the songs are all original recordings in good fidelity and the disc provides a fine, middle-of-the-road introduction to the era it covers.
