AllMusic Review by

AM Gold: The Late '60s is a 22-song collection sure to set off bouts of nostalgic joy. Some of the biggest pop hits of the time are here, both from huge artists and one-shot wonders. From the former camp are great tracks by the Association ("Never My Love"), Van Morrison ("Brown Eyed Girl"), the Grassroots ("Midnight Confession"), Dionne Warwick ("Alfie"), and the Mamas & the Papas ("Creque Alley"), from the latter are Friend & Lover's supercool "Reach Out in the Darkness," the Lemon Pipers' "Green Tambourine," and R.B. Greaves' "Take a Letter Maria." Throw in wonderful tracks from pop heavyweights the Lovin' Spoonful ("Darling Be Home Soon"), Glen Campbell ("Galveston"), and Tommy James & the Shondells ("Crystal Blue Persuasion") and you have a disc that will please both those who lived through it, and those who wish to discover some of the best pop music ever made.
