Time Life's AM Gold series takes a wide-ranging look at the music that shaped the '70s, sticking mainly to the biggest hits of each year and providing an hour-plus of first-rate oldies radio programming. Each disc is heavy with classic tracks from huge artists, but also finds space for one-offs from lesser-known groups and singers. AM Gold: 1975 is one of the better entries in the series, and contains some truly monumental songs like Minnie Riperton's "Loving You," America's "Sister Golden Hair," Pilot's "Magic," and LaBelle's "Lady Marmalade." This is also the first entry to show the beginnings of the disco revolution with KC & the Sunshine Band's "That's the Way (I Like It)." Another well-chosen, evenly paced, and highly entertaining collection from the fine folks at Time Life, seek it out at a second-hand store near you today.
