AllMusic Review by

This two-disc, budget-priced anthology from Universal features 40 contemporary pop songs from the likes of Elton John, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Spandau Ballet, and Amy Winehouse. To quote the cover, this “collection of beautiful songs” is obviously to be taken as a love letter to the ladies, and cuts like Guillemots frontman Fyfe Dangerfield's “She’s Always a Woman” and Extreme's lovely but not very extreme “More Than Words” dutifully project that sentiment, but the inclusion of the 1972 Michael Jackson hamster ballad “Ben” just feels wrong.
