Almighty Records celebrates the enigmatic rise of dance music in the vibrant double-disc collection Almighty Anthems: A Decade of Dance. It's a brash, yet sultry set of trance, Hi-NRG, and techno, and a bombastic set for any dance enthusiast. Disc one showcases select cuts made popular during the early to mid-'90s and delectable songs by Abbacadabra ("Dancing Queen"), Sarah Washington ("I Will Always Love You"), and Roman Holiday ("You Are the Music"). Royal T's "Baby Don't Cha Leave Me This Way" is a hypnotizing swirl of disco breaks and infectious techno beats. Rochelle's "Think Twice" is a soulful and bittersweet soundscape. Disc two, which captures the last part of the decade, kicks off with a vivacious remake version of Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)." It's trashy chic and the trance loops are infectious. Bianca's "Hot 'N Steamy" and Natalie Browne's dance version of Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn" suggest the club land can turn any song into a dance classic. Almighty Records celebrates that fact alone, allowing this compilation to be a must have for any dance music diehard.
