AllMusic Review by

This entertaining compilation gathers some of the best-known recordings of such well-known singing cowboys as Roy Rogers, Tex Ritter, and Gene Autrey, as well as their less-storied sidekicks, who include Cole Wilson, Jack Guthrie, and Kenny Roberts. Featuring the Sons of the Pioneers' rollicking "Cigareets and Whuskey and Wild, Wild Women" and classic "Cool Water," as well as Rogers' popular "A Four-Legged Friend" and Rex Allen's light-hearted "Who Shot the Hole in My Sombrero?," this double CD celebration of the Wild West is a engagingly nostalgic trip down memory lane for ex-buckaroos of all ages.
