AllMusic Review by

Another two-CD, 50-track collection of R&B vocal group (usually doo wop) rarities from the Atlantic vaults, recorded in the 1950s and early '60s. None of these are familiar hits, except for the Coasters' "Yakety Yak" and "Charlie Brown," presented in previously unreleased stereo mixes. It's not recommended if you're not heavily into the genre, but if you're a doo wop specialist, this is one of the best packages of its kind available, with sides (many hard to find) by the Clovers, Cardinals, Penguins, Bobbettes, Sensations, Skyliners, and others. There are also previously unreleased items by the Chords and the Drifters (from both the Clyde McPhatter and Ben E. King lineups), and the original version of "Twist and Shout" (by the Top Notes).
