All-American Country Review

by Steve Leggett

This budget three-disc box combines brief ten-song playlists from Hank Williams (including “Honky Tonkin’” and “Lovesick Blues”), Lee Greenwood (“God Bless the U.S.A.”), and Don Williams (“Tulsa Time,” “Good Ole Boys Like Me”). It all feels a little random, both for the song selection for each and for combining these three artists at all, since each comes from a different corner of the country music universe. But what’s collected here is fine, and given that one can only play one disc at a time, it’s probably really not that disjointed, particularly if one is a fan of all three of these distinctly different singers.
