Raul Torres' second album, Ala de Luz, fulfills the promise of his first, offering a fresh blend of Latin pop, mainstream rock and seductive soul. Torres has a good sense of songcraft, a rich voice and a distinctive guitar style, all of which are well heard on this record. There are a couple of missteps, but for the most part, the album is a deserved and heartening success.
