AllMusic Review by

A three-disc box from West Side that compiles a wealth of crucial groove classics from the acid-jazz scene, Acid Jazz Story begins with cuts from 1988 like Galliano's "Frederick Lies Still," the Brand New Heavies' "People Get Ready," and A Man Called Adam's "A.P.B." The set keeps the quality going over the course of the second and third discs too, with tracks from the James Taylor Quartet ("Creation"), D-Influence ("I'm the One"), Snowboy ("Lucky Fellow"), Jamiroquai ("When You Gonna Learn?"), and Corduroy ("Don't Wait for Monday"), among others.
