While Florent Pagny recordings have sold well whether critics like them or not -- he is number 25 on France’s all-time best seller's list with sales of over 11 million pieces -- Abracadabra was universally acclaimed as the singer's return to form. The album was preceded by what would become a number two hit single in "Là Où Je T'emmènerai" and remain on the charts for over 66 weeks. With his usual band in tow -- Fabien Cahen on acoustic guitar, Philippe Entressangle on drums, Erik Fostinelli on percussion and piano -- Pagny filled out the cast with studio players for this more exotic and rockist affair, resulting in his most satisfying offering in a decade.
