This British compilation of Andy Williams's early recordings for Cadence Records, 1955-61, largely eschews his chart singles (though "Canadian Sunset," "The Hawaiian Wedding Song," "The Village Of St. Bernadette," and "The Bilbao Song" are included) in favor of tracks drawn from his LPs of the period, especially Two Time Winners (covers of other people's hits), To You Sweetheart, Aloha (Hawaiian songs), and Under Paris Skies (French songs). The result has the effect of suggesting that Williams's eclectic Cadence catalog, which even includes some semi-rock recordings, is more like his later Columbia Records work. The set would have been improved by including more from another LP of the period, Andy Willams Sings Rodgers & Hammerstein.
