The cover of this Big Eye tribute to Whitney Houston has an odd vibe to it. It seems to be a touched-up photo of flowers bursting out the top of a zip-up leather boot. It's unclear what this has to do with Whitney, but there's a chance it was recycled from a Black Tape for a Blue Girl tribute somewhere. Regardless, the uncredited vocalists and musicians here perform only passable versions of Houston's hits. "How Will I Know" is nice enough in a we're-passing-by-a-karaoke-bar-and-someone's-singing-Whitney-in-there sort of way, while "I Will Always Love You" has Houston's big, brassy emotion softened to adult contemporary range. The same goes for most of this set, which doesn't often make an impression beyond a late-night scan of lite rock stations. Vocalist Dionyza Sutton's own Tribute to Whitney Houston came out the same year, and is probably a better bet for Whitney fans looking for an interpretation instead of an impersonation.
