A Tribute to the Eagles presents a dozen of the band's greatest hits as performed by the Desperados, no doubt a group of session musicians fronted by a vocalist who sounds vaguely like both Don Henley and Glenn Frey. The Desperados' renditions of "Tequila Sunrise" and "Desperado" are passable, in a bar band sort of way, but the guitar intro to "Hotel California" and the wimpy harmonies on "Heartache Tonight" are both downright embarrassing, and the album's blandly slick production ultimately sinks it. Neither as satisfying as the Eagles' versions nor interestingly different from them, the performances on A Tribute to the Eagles make it anything but.
