Tribute to Terri Clark draws mostly from the Canadian country superstar's Pain to Kill and Fearless and includes the hit singles "Three Mississippi," "A Little Gasoline," and "I Just Wanna Be Mad." Of course, Clark herself is nowhere near this recording, which is instead performed by an assorted group of studio musicians. The revolving door of vocalists gets the brassiness of Clark's material right, but that's the easy part. Her intangibles are what can't be imitated, and they certainly aren't here. What you're left with is a relatively solid set of 12 Clark songs earnestly performed by a state fair food court-quality cover band. Recommended for the avid fan or true completist only. Tribute can't hold a candle to the real thing, so the casual or curious listener is encouraged to purchase Clark's own How I Feel or Pain to Kill.
