You know your body of work is impressive when even the cut-rate samplers made from your music are gorgeous, classy affairs. Nat "King" Cole was a great performer, and A Touch of Class is concrete proof of his talents as a singer and a pianist. To the credit of the compiler (who goes uncredited), the album is a beautiful example of how track placement is very important to the quality of compilations. This could easily be one of his regular albums, and the fact that the music maintains the same sound quality throughout is a big bonus. Anyone looking for a classy album of romantic pop music should give this a listen, Cole was the master of lush ballads, and this album is packed to the brim with them.
