After moving on from the short-lived Air Miami, Teenbeat owner Mark Robinson apparently decided to return to more rock-oriented music -- Flin-Flon, his new project, drops the atmospheric tendencies of Air Miami's work in favor of three-piece indie-rock that's more in line with his first band, Unrest. Teenbeat's catalog order form refers to Air Miami as "new wave power-pop," but that title is far more appropriate for an album like A-OK, which rushes through bass-driven pop songs without ever getting too elaborate about it. The album is likely to disappoint those who enjoyed the gentle, textured quality of Air Miami's Me, Me, Me, but it's a pleasant return for the rock end of Robinson's fan base.
