Jeez, that cover art should be scented with crappy juniper soap. Anyway, this portion of the always entertaining Guitar Tribute series features ten tracks originally by Canadian chanteuse Sarah McLachlan. As this is an instrumental album, listeners are saved from an overeager studio vocalist butchering her willowy vocal. Instead, "Building a Mystery" is guided by twangy reverb guitar, "Fallen" stays pretty close to the original, except there's a guitar where Sarah would be, and "Possession" at least tries to get at some of the etherealness in her music, even if its hissing synths and -- yes -- guitar don't really make the cut. A Guitar Tribute to Sarah McLachlan is a complete novelty, but may have a smidgen of interest for the Sarah Super Fans out there.
