Flock of Bleeps follows a number of Twisted compilation appearances from Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan, the duo that makes up Younger Brother. This full-length debut is a collision between psychedelic trance and downtempo, with all sorts of clunky samples and disparate patchwork influences figuring into the scheme. The melting pot often serves up negligible -- and occasionally putrid -- dishes. There's a mismatched mix of backwoods acoustic guitar and acid burbles populating "Evil and Harm." The worldbeat dub of "Crumblenaut" features some nearly comical vocal effects. (Also, is that a slight nod to Yes' "Roundabout" at the beginning of "Bedtime Story"?) Still, there might be just enough mold-breaking excitement to snare in fans of Posford's and Vaughan's solo work.
