AllMusic Review by

Released as a companion piece to A&E's insightful hourlong documentary of the same name, A&E Biography is a concise and entertaining collection that balances Kenny Rogers' hits ("Lucille," "The Gambler," "Lady") with lesser-known songs, including album tracks, smaller singles, and duets, such as "Every Time Two Fools Collide," his chart-topper with Dottie West. There are not enough big singles for the disc to qualify as a true greatest-hits collection, but it has enough high points and interesting detours to make it an engaging listen, one that comes close to capturing the ebb and flow of Rogers' career even if it doesn't provide a completely accurate summary.
