This release combines 999's first two albums, 999 and the Martin Rushent-produced Separates -- both of which were originally released in 1978. While it's convenient to have both albums packaged together on one disc, no room is allowed for any of the very significant bonus tracks (such as "Nasty Nasty" and "Soldier," along with five others) that appeared on Captain Oi!'s individual and much more comprehensive 2000 reissues. Unless the budget is extremely tight, those individual reissues should win out over this somewhat cheap two-in-one package. Regardless of the presentation, 999 and Separates are two albums that any fan of British punk should own.
