'80s Country 1984-1986 is a collection of good songs by talented performers during a difficult time in country music. By the mid-1980s, the country-pop crossover hits and the urban cowboy craze were over, and country music needed to be reinvented and recharged. But during this time, there were some artists and songs that were very good, and they're on this collection. T. Graham Brown's "Hell and High Water," and Lee Greenwood's "Dixie Road," and Ronnie Milsap's contributions are the strongest of the set, but all the tracks are worth hearing again.
