70s: The Collection Review

by James Christopher Monger

This three-disc set from Rhino U.K. collects 60 prime cuts from the '70s that span numerous genres. While peppered with many of the era's more notable and familiar offerings like the Doobie Brothers' "Long Train Runnin'," Seals & Crofts' "Summer Breeze," and "Disco Inferno" from the Trammps, 70s: The Collection digs a little deeper than most, carving out space for less obvious compilation fodder from the likes of the Ramones, MC5, Velvet Underground, Brownsville Station, Television, and Richard Hell & the Voidoids.
