Madacy's 1998 collection 60's Rock & Roll is ten tracks' worth of anguish for anyone who loves '60s pop music. Especially anyone who has the misfortune to buy it. All but one of the tracks (the Shangri-Las' "Leader of the Pack") is a re-recording done at some unspecified post-'60s time. Granted, they are by the original artists and some of them, like Lesley Gore's "Judy's Turn to Cry" find the artist in fine voice, but they are pale imitations of greatness regardless and no one who has any love for '60s pop should give them a first, much less a second, look. Madacy, you've done it again!
