Given the tremendous explosion in diversity that AM pop went through in the 1960s, a time when nearly every contemporary and current style was prefigured in a nascent form, this set seems unusually frivolous, even if it, by title, intends to be nothing more than a party album. A deeper problem is that almost everything presented on 60s Party Hits is a re-recording and not the original version from the 1960s. It's pure manipulated and packaged nostalgia, and worse, it's faux nostalgia.
