AllMusic Review by

The title of Cleopatra's Daytrippers: The Definitive 60's Box Set is so ludicrously inaccurate as to be insulting; with no songs present by the Beatles (not even "Day Tripper"), Rolling Stones, Who, Doors, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, or any Motown act -- to name but a few -- any claim that this three-disc package defines the music of the 1960s is outrageously stupid. What you do get is a selection of mostly blues-rock and folk-rock, a mixture of British and American acts, and the original versions of some classic songs (as well as inferior re-recordings), obscurities by well-known artists, and minor hits by groups that will be familiar to '60s enthusiasts but not to the general listening public. The song selection seems haphazard, with no real unifying focus to the collection; however, the extremely low price (three discs for the price of one) may make it attractive to collectors looking for specific tracks on CD, even if this may not be the best way to listen to them.
