AllMusic Review by

50 Original Recordings, a two-disc collection of Bing Crosby greats distributed by Prism Leisure, presents one of the best compilings of classic Cros material. Focusing on the '30s and '40s, his best era, it includes most of his biggest hits on the second disc (subtitled "Million Sellers"), including "Swinging on a Star," "Don't Fence Me In," "It's Been a Long, Long Time," "Sunday, Monday or Always," "San Fernando Valley," "Pennies From Heaven," and "White Christmas" (unfortunately absent is "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?"). The first disc ("Going My Way") is more eclectic, but still includes several classics: his irresistible duet with Louis Armstrong on "Gone Fishin'," and two of his most sublime hits, "Dear Hearts and Gentle People" and "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening."
