AllMusic Review by

Frank Sinatra was the artist who pioneered the notion of the concept album -- he strove to give his LPs a thematic unity, and along with his legendary albums of late-night "saloon songs" that spun tales of busted romances and broken dreams, he also enjoyed cutting "swinging" albums, dominated by upbeat, confident numbers presented in bold and brassy arrangements. Five Classic Swingin' Albums presents five of Sinatra's best swing-oriented albums on CD in a special box set, which documents some of his most enthusiastic performances of the late '50s and early '60s. Albums included are A Swingin' Affair (1957, arranged by Nelson Riddle), Sinatra's Swingin' Session (1961, arranged by Nelson Riddle), Come Swing with Me (1961, arranged by Billy May), Swing Along with Me (1961, arranged by Billy May), and Sinatra & Swingin' Brass (1962, arranged by Neal Hefti).
