AllMusic Review by

In 1966, a handful of students from Mexico's Universidad de Coahuila in Saltillo decided to form a folk music group; with plenty of volunteers who could sing or play guitar, they formed a rondalla ensemble, and La Rondalla de Saltillo was born. Forty years later, the school is still fielding one of Mexico's most respected traditional music ensembles, and the group celebrates their birthday with this two-disc selection of classic recordings. 40 Aniversario 40 Exitos includes "Te Deseo Amor," "Mienteme," "Soy un Romantico," "Obesion," "Nuestro Gran Amor," and many more.
