AllMusic Review by

This compilation moves quickly from two Nashville-sound numbers by Kitty Wells and Patsy Cline into a more country-pop direction with songs that were crossover hits during the '60s and '70s. The big problem with this compilation is that the cuts are all latter-day re-recordings, with the exception of only two songs: "Walkin' After Midnight" and "Help Me Make It Through the Night." Included are re-recordings of such country chart-toppers as Connie Smith's "Once a Day" (1964) and Jeannie Seely's "Don't Touch Me." Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden" (1970), Barbara Fairchild's "Teddy Bear Song" (1971), and Jeanne Pruett's "Satin Sheets" (1965) are just some of the included songs that, in their original form, not only topped the country charts, but made their mark on the pop charts, as well.
