1975: 20 Original Chart Hits continues British label A Time to Remember's look at the hits of the decade. This edition keeps the spotlight on glitter rock, features some disco, and also has the usual mix of pop, rock, and novelty songs. The glitter hits are not as big as they were in 1974: Suzi Quatro's "Your Mama Won't Like Me," Mud's "Oh Boy," and Hello's "New York Groove" weren't smashes. The disco representatives fare better with KC & the Sunshine Band's massive "That's the Way I Like It" and Maxine Nightingale's insistent "Right Back Where We Started From." Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing," Minnie Riperton's "Lovin' You," and Glen Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy" are some of the other huge hits to be found. Also of interest is the proto-punk "Motorbikin'" by Chris Spedding and the weird but wonderful glam ballad "Make Me Smile" by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel. This is one of the strongest and most varied volumes in an solid and enjoyable series.
