1963 Classic Rock rounds up some of the biggest hits of the year by a mix of classic artists and also-rans. Looking at the ten songs might lead you to believe that you were getting a pretty decent, extremely low-priced disc that might help to fill in some gaps in your '60s collection, or might even be an introduction to the featured year's music. You might as well forget those reasons, however slim, for picking up this disc. Most of the songs here are modern-day re-recordings and not very good ones at that. While many of the vocalists still sound decent, the musical backing is on par with karaoke and the listening experience is not a pleasant one to say the least. Avoid this disc like you should all re-recordings, with extreme prejudice.
