AllMusic Review by Steve Leggett

This three-disc budget box set from Madacy Records has some marvelous songs from the 1960s, but unfortunately all of these are new stereo recordings by one of more members of the original groups, which means you won't really be getting the actual hits the way they sounded on the radio. In some cases here it may not matter, since the difference is slight, but a hit single is a confluence of many factors, including the artist, engineer, producer, room sound, mixing techniques etc., and simply sticking some of the principles together ten years later may not necessarily yield the same results. But it it's the songs you're after, and not the original versions, then this makes a fine party box.
