AllMusic Review by

At one time the best and most readily available Chiffons compilation on the market, Collectables' 16 Golden Classics has since gone out of print. If you can find a copy, it still makes a fine summary of the girl group's career, adding plenty of lesser-known recordings to their three big hits: the number one "He's So Fine" and the Top Tens "One Fine Day" and "Sweet Talkin' Guy." Those songs all rank as girl group classics, but there are other fine performances here as well. Minor chart hits "I Have a Boyfriend," "When the Boy's Happy (The Girl's Happy Too)," "Sailor Boy," and others capture the innocence and feminine longing of their (distinctly pre-feminist) era. With 16 Golden Classics now very difficult to find, hardcore girl group fanatics are directed for the time being to the Remember label's 2001 compilation One Fine Day, which features a whopping 26 tracks.
