Before they were glossy pop heroes, the Quin sisters were making punky poppy gems like this. Their harmonies are 100% lovely as always, the sound is tough and stripped down, the songs verge on brilliant. “Walking with a Ghost” is basically a perfect song; distilling that terrible post-breakup feeling where you feel like you can’t escape your ex no matter how hard you try. The whole record is made up of these kind of razor-sharp emotional darts and they all hit dead center of the heart, broken or otherwise.
