Domino
AllMusic Rating: 4.0 stars
The band's first album as a five-piece goes beyond virally catchy singles with witty, heartfelt love songs for people who don't want to fall in love.
- Heather Phares
Heavenly Recordings
AllMusic Rating: 3.5 stars
The Welsh singer/songwriter sets aside electronics (mostly) on this alternately down-to-earth and ambitious set of warmly emotional and introspective songs.
- Tim Sendra
Ninja Tune
AllMusic Rating: 4.0 stars
The U.K. producer's second album contains several club bangers along with lush, sentimental material similar to his debut.
- Paul Simpson
Second Disc Records / SoulMusic
AllMusic Rating: 4.5 stars
Devotedly assembled and chock-full of rarities, this thorough 12-disc box is testament to the incomparable singer's greatness beyond the hits.
- Andy Kellman
Slumberland
AllMusic Rating: 4.0 stars
Warm and tuneful throughout, the indie pop group's first album in 11 years sounds a little more reflective but otherwise like they never left.
- Marcy Donelson
Safe Suburban Home Records / Slumberland
AllMusic Rating: 3.5 stars
Sprightly indie pop derived from classic sounds of the past but given new life thanks to the uneasy balance between the two vocalists.
- Tim Sendra
Paradise of Bachelors
AllMusic Rating: 4.0 stars
The second solo album from this Philly artist is stormy, meditative, and quietly powerful even in its mostly acoustic rendering.
- Fred Thomas
Mercury KX / Opia Community
AllMusic Rating: 3.0 stars
Somber, poignant collaboration that was completed shortly after the Irish singer/songwriter's untimely death.
- Paul Simpson

Editors' Choice for June, 2025

AllMusic Staff Picks

AllMusic Staff Pick – July 12, 2025
December, 1963
A blistering live album, especially in mono, cut by Bo Diddley and company in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on July 5 and 6, 1963. This album contains 30-plus minutes of the best live rock & roll ever issued on record. Diddley and company are "on" from the get-go with a killer instrumental erroneously credited as Chuck Berry's "Memphis" (which it isn't), that's a showcase for Diddley's attack on his instrument and a crunching assault by the rest of the band (all in that shave-and-a-haircut-two-bits beat), cymbals on top of an overloaded bass, and what sounds like every rhythm guitar in the world grinding away.
