Marvin Gaye / Diana Ross

Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)

Composed by Linda Creed / Thom Bell

Song Review by

From their overlooked 1973 album Diana & Marvin, the two icons give an excellent take on the Thom Bell/Linda Creed song popularized by the Stylistics. Diana Ross countering Marvin Gaye's membrane-piercing falsetto shrieks makes it hard to believe they recorded their parts separately, especially on this number -- they sound joined at the hip. Motown released three good singles from the album and this could have easily been the fourth.
