I'm No Angel

Composed by P. Palmer / Phil Palmer / Tony Colton

Song Review by

Although not written by Gregg Allan, "I'm No Angel" fits his blues-based funk like a definitive glove. One of his later-day hits, the song is driven by a heavy, New Orleans-styled rhythm and a shiny pop gloss. This may seem unusual on the surface, yet it was indeed one of the key methods of survival in the music industry in the 1990s. The results in this loosely autobiographical song are somewhat overstating the commercial element, yet, in the end, render the overall song successful, and a fine opening song to Sony/legacy's 2002 collection of the same name.
