Of course, "Satisfaction" may be the definitive Rolling Stones song and performance. Otis Redding, however, flattered the band to no end with this great cover, which also went a long way in helping him capture the white rock & roll audience. Taken at a much more frantic groove than the Stones' version, Redding certainly made the song his own with this cover. It went Top 40 on the pop charts in late 1965, as well as number four on the R&B chart, where Redding was king at the time. Another excellent live version from the Monterey Pop Festival is included on the Dreams to Remember anthology, as well as the Monterey box set.
