Past and present members of Fu Manchu, the Adolescents, the Obsessed and Kyuss come together to create a hell of a racket on The Great White Dope. The minds behind the loudest premiere we've hosted so far are Bob Balch (Fu Manchu) guitar, Scott Reeder on drums (also of Fu Manchu), a different Scott Reeder on bass (formerly of Kyuss and the Obsessed), and Tony Adolescent (the Adolescents) on vocals .

Combine the deep, low grooves of heavy stoner rock with the pointed delivery of punk vocals, plus four guys who sound like they're having a lot of fun, and that's a pretty good start on where this record goes. There's a little something for everyone, provided you appreciate the harder end of the musical spectrum: two-minute fuzz workouts like "Dresden Fireball Freakout Flight" or the gut-shaking, low and slow—save for a few guitar pyrotechnics—"Fever Blister & the Great White Dope."

The Great White Dope is out May 12 on Satin Records.
