Formed in New York, USA, in the early 90s, Wicked Maraya comprises Lou Falco (vocals), Michael Iadevaio (guitar), Dan Malsch (guitar), John Iadevaio (bass) and Mike Nach (drums). With a sound located somewhere between the pomp rock of Queensrÿche, Fates Warning and Savatage, the group’s debut album was an impressive example of modern progressive metal. With intelligent, supple songwriting, and a fine production gloss courtesy of Jim Morris (a veteran of work with Savatage and Crimson Glory), Cycles boded well for their long-term career. To promote it the group set about a European tour with Metal Church.
