Vicente Fernández Jr. was born and raised in the bosom of a family involved for decades in the traditional Mexican music field. Son of the local celebrity Vicente Fernández aka El Charro de Huentitan and brother of the popular singer Alejandro Fernández, he began singing along with his father and mentor at a very young age. However, Vicente Fernández Jr. decided to graduate from a local institute and hold an accounting degree before getting seriously involved in show business. Pedro Ramírez produced his debut album called El Mayor de los Potrillos, featuring songs by talented and well-known Mexican songwriters. Vicente Fernández Hijo Con Mariachi followed in 2002.
