Her 2-1/2-octave range voice is equally comfortable with haunting whispers and resonant power. Her melodies innovatively blend folk, jazz, and pop styles, and the words that she writes offer the revolutionary gifts of personal revelation and precious insight. She is Susan Herrick, singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist, drummer, and sacred healer.

In 1985, Susan received a B.S. degree in music therapy, with emphasis on classical voice and composition. While establishing a private practice as a music therapist, she toured her first independent album, Loving Me, an acoustic collection which reached the thousands. On the heels of that success came multiple challenges: the breakup of a seven-year relationship and the recalling of sexual abuse. Fortified by her process of self-healing, Susan released her second recording, Truth and the Lie (1991) on the WATCHfire label confounded with her partner Jessie Cocks.
